Herringbone Stitch


Herringbone stitch is a very simple stitch.
When herrigbone stitch is use in a curve design, the re
sult is more attractive than doing it on a parallel line.
The pictures below will describe the sequence step by step to do herring

Hi..I have a few questions...Actually I have done embroidery only on matte cloth in schooldays..now that I'm free for a couple of months I wish to start all this again.. I loved this herringbone stitch..

But can u plz tell me what type of cloth and thread we need to use? This thread looks shiny..plz guide...

Hi Manju,

In this tutorial, I have use silk threads, but the most convenient ones would be anchor threads and these embroidery can be done on any kind of cloth depending on your project..
